It's trading day in baseball, apparently, with the Braves and Twins completing a deal on Wednesday afternoon:

Doumit will be 33 in April and had a .710 OPS in 135 games for the Twins in 2013, with 14 home runs and 55 RBI. He played catcher and right field, and was below-average defensively, according to FanGraphs. Defensively, he's a better option behind the plate, although he isn't great back there, either.

Doumit has a career 104 wRC+, so he's slightly above-average offensively. He's likely insurance behind the plate for the Braves, who lost catcher Brian McCann to the Yankees, and are preparing to head into 2014 with Evan Gattis as their primary catcher. He'll earn $3.5 million in 2014, the final year of a two-year contract.

Sean Gilmartin, 23, was a first-round pick of the Braves, 28th overall, in 2011. He pitched in rookie ball, Class A, and Triple-A in 2013, and had a 5.06 ERA and 1.43 WHIP in 20 starts and 105 innings. He struck out 81 and walked 33.

Gilmartin was ranked by FanGraphs as the Braves' fifth-best prospect in January 2013, but his stock fell this past year, and it's almost a mission for a young pitcher to crack the Braves' rotation.
