Report: Charges dropped against Oakland players involved in rape case

Oakland University's Duke Mondy and Dante Williams have both been released jail after being charged with felony rape.

According to CBS Sports, all charges against the two players will be dropped, but Mondy and Williams' basketball future with Oakland is in jeopardy.

"They will be appropriately suspended upon review of the situation," said coach Greg Kompe, who added that the two players met the alleged victim at Wednesday's Clippers game at the Staples Center. "This was more than going past curfew, more than breaking of team policy. It's more than that. I take it very seriously, am apologetic to our fans, apologetic to college basketball that something like this would happen."

Mondy and Williams will not be with the Golden Grizzlies for their game against Gonzaga on Sunday.
