Report: Flyers trying to move a defenseman, sign Hal Gill
The Philadelphia Flyers are reportedly hoping to sign veteran Hal Gill, who has played for them this preseason on a professional tryout deal, but first they need to move a defenseman.
This report comes from CSN's Tim Panaccio:
Hal Gill tells me he and Homer postponed meeting till SUN. Flyers r trying to move a d-man and perhaps sign Gill as 7th man

If the "Flyers looking to move defenseman" rumblings strikes you as oddly familiar, perhaps it's because Colorado Avalanche beat writer Adrian Dater reported in the wee hours of Saturday morning that the defense-challenged Colorado Avalanche were "possibly talking" with the Flyers about a potential trade involving a blue-liner.
Hearing a little chatter about Avs and Flyers possibly talking about a swap for a D-man. Might happen, might not

With the exception of the waiver wire and a minor trade involving Krys Barch, the rush to Monday (all teams may only have 23 player on the roster by Monday, and be cap compliant) has been pretty quiet so far.
Could that change over the balance of the weekend?
