Tickets for national championship game average nearly $1,700

For people thinking of going to see the National Championship game at AT&T Stadium, the cost may be equal to an entire holiday bonus. Or more.

According to Vivid Seats - a secondary ticket marketplace - fans will have to shell out an average of $1,681 to see their favorite teams duke it out in the National Championship, the Oregonian's Andrew Greif reports.

While not as expensive as the game in Arlington, Texas, tickets to the Sugar and Rose Bowl still cost an average of $501 and $376 respectively.

The bowl with the lowest average ticket price is the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl between Air Force and Western Michigan, which will only set you back an affordable $29.

Who was it that said college sports were cheap?
