Leonard Fournette comes up big for LSU in victory over Texas A&M

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

LSU was close to having it's first season with a losing record in conference play, and then it's freshman running back broke out.

LSU beat Texas A&M 23-17 Thursday night, bringing the Tigers' record to 8-4 overall, while winning their fourth SEC game. The Aggies fall to 7-5, 3-5 in the conference.

Tigers running back Leonard Fournette had a career high 146 yards on 19 carries with a touchdown. That score came on a rumbling play that left an Aggies defensive back on his back after a failed tackle attempt.

Fournette was not the only 100-yard rusher for the Tigers, quarterback Anthony Jennings tacked 119 yards on the ground along with his 107 yards passing with a touchdown and an interception.

Aggies quarterback Kyle Allen finished the game with 144 yards passing with a touchdown and a pick.
