Oklahoma's Dannon Cavil leaves football program

Oklahoma wide receiver Dannon Cavil announced Wednesday night that he has decided to leave the Sooners. 

“After careful consideration and much prayer, I’ve decided to pursue a transfer from the University of Oklahoma,” the redshirt freshman wrote on Twitter. “This was not an easy decision to make however, I believe it is the right decision for me based on my goals and aspirations as a student-athlete.  

“I want to thank my parents, teammates, coaches, teachers, and members of the athletic department who have assisted and supported me throughout this process. God bless you all.”

Cavil enrolled at Oklahoma in January 2013, but sat out the season with a redshirt. He had not played a game this season.
