Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett will start Saturday against Illinois despite soreness in his left knee.
The redshirt freshman sprained his MCL against Penn State last week, but played through the pain in the second half and overtime to lead the No. 16 Buckeyes to victory.
“There would have to be something drastic happen between now and Saturday at 8 p.m.,” Barrett said after practice Wednesday, according to Austin Ward of ESPN. “I plan on playing Saturday.”
The matchup between the Buckeyes and the Fighting Illini kicks off at 8:00 p.m. ET.
