Jimbo Fisher would re-evaluate support of Winston if facts change

Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher has been one of Jameis Winston's most adamant supporters concerning every off-field issue the young quarterback has encountered.

But in an interview with AL.com's Solomon Crenshaw Jr., Fisher said he's not making assumptions. Instead, he's going off what he knows to be truth.

"I base my decisions on the facts," he said. "If the facts change, we change whatever goes on. But we believe in everything so far and we have no reason not to."

Mere hours earlier, Fisher exited an impromptu media scrum ahead of the Monday Morning Quarterback Club, an event where he gave a speech.

Fisher has remained predominantly mum regarding Winston's off-field antics. But, on Monday, he was as revealing as he's ever been on the topic, calmly addressing the Seminoles' underlying plot of the season.

"I base my decisions based on what is the facts of each situation," Fisher said in the accompanying video. "If the young man is right, we back him. If he is wrong, he will be disciplined or punished accordingly by whatever is out there."
