Former Louisville player: Strippers in dorm just 'dancing in bathing suits'

Details continue to emerge since the release of a book with allegations that a Louisville employee provided players with escorts.

In "Breaking Cardinal Rules," author Katina Powell wrote that former Cardinals' staffer Andre McGee hired her to provide escorts to athletes for sex and dances, both as part of recruiting and in Billy Minardi Hall dormitory for members of the team.

A former Louisville player, who asked to remain anonymous, confirmed the visits to the dorm happened, but said they were much less scandalous than what the book claims.

"They were just up there dancing in bathing suits, they didn't even get all the way nude," the source told ESPN.

"It was just (for fun) and after that it was like a regular night. We went out to a club. Far as paying for sex - nobody did that. She's (Powell) lying about that."

The source also contested Powell's claim that the women were paid $10,000, saying the only money that changed hands was what the players threw, which was in the range of $100.

"It wasn't no $10,000, I know that much," he said. "Things don't add up. Andre is staying in the dorm, but he's going to give her $10,000? Like I said, I never seen Andre McGee hand her no money. The only money I saw was what was thrown at the strippers. Not by Andre McGee. By players by their choice. And the girls left and that was just that."
