UNLV lands 4-star point guard Jaylen Fisher

Ron Chenoy / USA Today

Four-star point guard Jaylen Fisher announced Wednesday evening that he will play for UNLV in 2016.

UNLV and Memphis were said to Fisher's top two choices, and late buzz suggested that UNLV had gained the upper hand for attracting his services. The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder also considered Arkansas, Indiana, and Baylor before committing to Dave Rice's team.

ESPN ranked Fisher as the seventh top point guard in his class and 34th overall in the ESPN 100 list. He's known as a "true point guard" with a good feel for the game and an aggressive offensive game.

Fisher currently attends Bolton High School in Arlington, Tenn.
