Virginia lands commitment from 4-star big Mamadi Diakite

Mamadi Diakite, a four-star member of the recruiting class of 2016, has committed to Virginia, according to multiple sources.
Diakite told Evan Daniels of Scout that he is exploring the possibility of reclassifying to 2015.
"It's a possibility. We don't know yet," Diakite said.
A 6-foot-9 power forward, Diakite is considered an elite defender and will provide Tony Bennett with a top option as a rim protector. He is ranked as the No. 69 recruit in the class by ESPN.
Diakite is the third member of the ESPN 100 for 2016 to commit to Virginia, joining shooting guard Kyle Guy (No. 44) and point guard Ty Jerome (No. 65).
