The annual Big 12/SEC Challenge will alter its format by moving to a single day in 2016 to increase exposure for the contest.

The interconference matchup will take place on Jan. 30 in 2016. For the past two years, it's been held in November and December on multiple dates.

"Meaningful out-of-conference games often happen before teams find their identity," said Georgia coach Mark Fox. "This move will showcase two great conferences at a time during the season when teams are playing their best."

Not every coach involved favors the change because it puts a potentially difficult game in the middle of the season, sources told ESPN's Jeff Goodman

ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU will televise all 10 games.
