Notre Dame avoids upset in Raleigh, comes back to beat NC State in overtime

Notre Dame had its back against the wall in Raleigh on Sunday evening, but the Fighting Irish were able to claw their way back and force overtime against NC State, eventually fending off the Wolpack in an 81-78 victory.

The Irish trailed by as many as 18 points in the contest. The win gives them victories in 15 of their last 16 games.

Notre Dame guard Jerian Grant led all scorers with 25 points on 7-of-17 shooting, filling out his stat sheet with four assists, three rebounds, two steals and a block. Forward Zach Auguste had the game's only double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

NC State guard Trevor Lacey had 13 points for the Wolfpack, adding seven assists, six rebounds, a steal and a block.

Notre Dame will return home to take on fifth-ranked Duke on Wednesday.
