Terry Rozier has big night, leads Louisville to victory over Pittsburgh

Charles LeClaire / USA TODAY Sports

Louisville sophomore guard Terry Rozier had a standout performance for his squad that translated into an 80-68 victory for the Cardinals over Pittsburgh on Sunday.

Both teams were neck-and-neck halfway through the first half with Louisville only ahead by two. It wouldn't last long, however, as Rozier and senior guard Chris Jones both added to the Cardinals' offensive attack and put their team ahead 40-30 at the end of the first half.

Rozier continued to be a force in the second half, hitting four free throws to keep his team well ahead of Pittsburgh. Sophomore forward and center Mangok Mathiang also made four free throws to help Louisville hang on for the win.

Rozier finished the game with 26 points and five rebounds while Jones added 17 points and five rebounds.

Louisville will visit Boston College on Wednesday while Pittsburgh will try to bounce back on Tuesday against Virginia Tech.
