Florida State loses Thomas, Bookert indefinitely

Melina Vastola-USA TODAY Sports

Florida State's 2-3 start could get worse before it gets better.

Ahead of the team's Friday game against Charleston Southern, the team announced they will be without a pair of key contributors indefinitely.

Leading scorer Aaron Thomas left Sunday's game with dizziness and isn't playing Friday, with the team saying he's out indefinitely after already sitting out Tuesday's game. Thomas is averaging 14 points through four games, shooting 42.6 percent from the field and adding four rebounds, two assists and two steals a night.

Devon Bookert is also out indefinitely after suffering a broken bone in his foot. The team is still awaiting text results to determine a timeline for Bookert, but in the meantime there are 21.3 minutes a night up for grabs. In three appearances, Bookert is averaging 4.3 points and 3.7 assists.

The pair of injuries render the Seminoles thin in the backcourt, with more to be asked of Xavier Rathan-Mayes and Montay Brandon moving forward.
