LAWRENCE, Kan. - Sophomore guard Conner Frankamp will transfer from No. 5 Kansas at the end of the semester, alleviating a potential logjam of backcourt players.
Frankamp said in a statement that he didn't feel like Kansas was ''the right fit,'' and alluded to the number of guards on the roster. He played in 27 games as a freshman last season, averaging 11 points during two games in the NCAA tournament.
The native of Wichita, Kansas, did not say where he would transfer, but he did say: ''I want to be at a place where I could play a bigger role.''
Coach Bill Self said he met with Frankamp and his family on Wednesday and that the sophomore decided to transfer the following day.
