After announcing just over a week ago that he would transfer out of Marquette before even playing a game for them, forward Gabe Levin - who initially transferred from Loyola Marymount - has committed to Long Beach State, according to Scott Phillips of CollegeBasketballTalk

As a freshman with LMU last season, the 6-foot-7 Levin started each of his 29 games, averaged 11.1 points, and led the team in both rebounding (7.2) and blocks (1.2). His block average was also good for fifth in the West Coast Conference.

Long Beach State was a disappointing 15-17 last season, its first losing campaign since 2007-08. Levin should help in the long-term but won't be able to contribute this season, as he'll have to redshirt.
