Butler has agreed to a contract extension with head coach Chris Holtmann through the 2024-25 season, the school announced Friday.

Holtmann, the reigning Big East Coach of the Year, guided the Bulldogs to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament this season, and has taken the program to March Madness in each of his three campaigns at the helm.

"Chris is a tremendous ambassador for Butler and the Butler Way, and his leadership has resulted in success both on and off the court for the talented young men in our program," athletic director Barry Collier said in a statement. "This commitment - both by our university and by Chris - allows the momentum within our program to continue."

The 45-year-old Holtmann owns a 70-31 record at Butler. He signed an extension with the school in May 2016 that locked him up through 2021-22.
