Kansas lands highly touted Cal transfer Charlie Moore

Kansas added another highly touted transfer to its significant haul this offseason, as former Cal guard Charlie Moore announced Tuesday that he's committed to the Jayhawks.

The 5-foot-11 standout was ranked the 14th-best point guard in the class of 2016, and was listed 61st overall on the ESPN 100. In his first season with the Golden Bears, Moore averaged 12.2 points and 3.5 assists per game, shooting 35.2 percent from beyond the arc.

When he announced his intent to transfer, Moore listed the desire to play closer to home as a major reason. The 548-mile trip from his hometown of Chicago to Kansas is certainly shorter than the 2,100-mile journey to Cal.

Moore joins Memphis transfers Dedric and K.J. Lawson in making the move to Kansas for head coach Bill Self's outfit. As per NCAA regulations, all three will be forced to sit out next season before becoming eligible in 2018-19.
