Gonzaga's Johnathan Williams testing NBA draft waters

Kyle Terada / USA TODAY Sports

Gonzaga forward Johnathan Williams has declared for the NBA draft without hiring an agent, he announced Friday.

"It's my dream to play in the NBA and not going with an agent allows me to see where I stand," Williams said. "I appreciate all the support I continue to receive at Gonzaga University."

The 6-foot-9 junior averaged 10.2 points and 6.4 rebounds for the Bulldogs in 2016-17, helping them reach the NCAA championship game for the first time in school history.

Gonzaga has already lost key players Nigel Williams-Goss and Zach Collins to the NBA draft, while star big man Przemek Karnowski and guard Jordan Mathews have both exhausted their college eligibility.
