Look: North Carolina cuts down nets after making 2nd straight Final Four

Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports

Cutting down the nets after earning a spot in the Final Four is one of the best traditions in college basketball, and no one has more experience with it than North Carolina.

The Tar Heels punched their ticket to their 20th Final Four in school history, the most of any program in the NCAA, with a 75-73 win over Kentucky. It marks the second year in a row North Carolina will appear in the Final Four and the sixth time the Tar Heels have advanced to this stage since 2000.

While it may not be a new experience at this point, North Carolina still reveled in the moment. Guard Joel Berry II held his piece of the netting aloft after playing the game with a pair of sprained ankles.

Last year Nate Britt squared off against his brother Kris Jenkins in the national championship game, but this year Britt is the only one with the chance to cut down the net.

Justin Jackson was ACC Player of the Year and pushed North Carolina against Kentucky with a game-high 19 points.

Kennedy Meeks, who had a career-high 17 rebounds to go along with four blocks in the victory, had to get his piece as well.

And of course head coach Roy Williams cut down the last piece, as he's off to the Final Four for the ninth time in his illustrious career.
