Jim Boeheim not sure if he'll coach next season

This could be Jim Boeheim's final season coaching basketball.

The Syracuse head coach appeared on The Dan Patrick Show, and seemed unclear if he will be coaching beyond this year.

"I don't know what's etched in stone these days," Boeheim said. "I really don't. There's a plan in place, and we're going to see what happens. But basically right now, I might be done this year. You just don't know. You just have to wait until the season's over."

The plan Boeheim is referring to is one that will see him call it quits after the 2017-18 campaign, allowing assistant Mike Hopkins to take over the program. Things seemed on track earlier this month, when athletic director John Wildhack indicated nothing had changed regarding Boeheim's future.

Some have also speculated Boeheim may stick around longer than 2017-18, but the 72-year-old will ultimately decide how long he continues to coach.
