Kentucky sanitizes facilities after cold bug sweeps team

Robert Deutsch / US Presswire

The only thing that slowed down Kentucky last week was a cold bug, leading head coach John Calipari to have the team's facilities and dorm rooms wiped down.

"Each of them have (hand sanitizer) in the room," Calipari said, according to Myron Medcalf of ESPN. "We got sick this week. And a couple of the guys got sick. So we sanitized everything. ... (Concourse of the practice facility), locker room, bathroom, shower, videos, lockers, their common areas over there, bathrooms over in the (Wildcat Coal Lodge)."

The cold first affected staff members on the Wildcats' trip to the Bahamas for Monday's game, prompting Calipari to order everything to be cleaned when the team returned home.

No player missed practice this week in preparation for Kentucky's home clash with UCLA on Saturday.
