Pitino not worried about potential NCAA sanctions

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Louisville coach Rick Pitino isn't losing sleep over the potential NCAA sanctions he's facing, and he doesn't expect they'll keep him awake in the near future.

In an interview with ESPN's Dana O'Neil on Wednesday, Pitino said he's not worried about possible NCAA penalties because "for the last 40-odd years, I've followed the letter of the NCAA law."

He added that he understands it's his job as head coach to be in control of his staff and his program, but said "some things we just cannot control."

The NCAA charged Pitino with failure to monitor earlier in October after the association found his former staffer Andre McGee paid thousands of dollars to host sex parties for Louisville recruits and/or players.
