Stanford's Travis cleared to participate in basketball activities

Stanford is ready to welcome back forward Reid Travis to the starting lineup.

Travis has been medically cleared to resume all basketball-related activities following a stress fracture in his leg that ended his 2015 season, Stanford head coach Jerod Haase told Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.

Before Travis missed the final 22 games of his sophomore season, he averaged 12.8 points and 7.1 rebounds per game in 32.8 minutes.

Stanford will likely lean heavily on the returning Travis to help guide the team back to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2014.
