Report: Kentucky transfer Marcus Lee expected to commit to Cal

Marcus Lee shocked the college basketball world last week when he announced he was withdrawing from the 2016 NBA Draft, but would transfer instead of returning to Kentucky.

Now it appears the 6-foot-9, 224-pound forward has found his new home, as a source told CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein that Lee is expected to commit to Cal on a campus visit Tuesday.

"He's going to Cal," the source said. "Unless something crazy happens, he's going to Cal."

Lee flashed signs of his potential in his junior season with the Wildcats, scoring 6.4 points and adding 6.0 rebounds in just 21.8 minutes per game. The move to the Golden Bears would represent a homecoming of sorts, as the 21-year-old grew up just 36 miles from the Cal campus.

As per NCAA transfer regulations, Lee will sit out the 2016-17 campaign before becoming eligible for his final collegiate season in 2017-18.
