UConn block machine Amida Brimah withdraws from NBA Draft

David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports

UConn's interior defense will be formidable yet again next season, as the school announced block machine Amida Brimah is withdrawing from the 2016 NBA Draft and returning for his senior season.

The 7-foot Ghanaian battled injuries throughout his junior campaign, yet still managed 67 blocks on the season. Brimah led the country in 2014-15 with 119 blocks, at a whopping 3.5 per game clip.

In order to improve his draft stock, Brimah will have to see a further development of his offensive game. During his junior season he averaged just 6.5 points, while also pulling down 4.6 rebounds per game.

His return, along with sharpshooter Rodney Purvis, will certainly make the Huskies one of the favorites in the American Athletic Conference next season.
