Kentucky-Kansas matchup headlines Big 12/SEC Challenge
Two of the most illustrious programs in college basketball history will meet as part of the Big 12/SEC Challenge in January.
Kansas will travel to Kentucky for the first time since 2005 when the two squads square off at Rupp Arena on Jan. 28, 2017. The Wildcats made the trip to Allen Fieldhouse last season, dropping a 90-84 decision in overtime.
"It's a great venue with terrific players playing in it,'' Kansas coach Bill Self said. "Our guys will look forward to the Challenge.''
For the second year in a row, the Challenge falls in the middle of the season and will take place over one day. It features all 10 teams from the Big 12 taking on 10 SEC teams, with each conference hosting five games.
In addition to the Kansas-Kentucky matchup, these are the other nine games in the Big 12/SEC Challenge:

- Iowa State at Vanderbilt
- Kansas State at Tennessee
- Florida at Oklahoma
- Arkansas at Oklahoma State
- Auburn at TCU
- Texas at Georgia
- LSU at Texas Tech
- Texas A&M at West Virginia
