Andre Drummond teases what he has in store for Slam Dunk contest

The 2016 Slam Dunk contest during NBA All-Star Weekend in Toronto appears to be Zach LaVine's to lose, with Las Vegas listing the Minnesota Timberwolves guard as the odds-on favorite - well ahead of fellow participants Will Barton, Aaron Gordon, and Andre Drummond.

Drummond is regarded as having the longest shot in the contest, and it's easy to see why, given he's a 6-foot-11 center who doesn't come off as someone who could be overly creative in the air. The world saw what LaVine is capable of during last year's competition, so how can Drummond - or anyone for that matter - possibly keep up with him?

Well, don't rule out an upset victory just yet. Drummond appears to have a few tricks up his sleeve for Saturday, including one dunk that will involve a player from another team, he told reporters Wednesday afternoon.

Drummond wouldn't go into too much detail, but rookie teammate Stanley Johnson knows of one jam his teammate's performed in practice which could guarantee him a perfect score: A side-of-backboard, between-the-legs reverse.

"If he does that, it's a 50," Johnson said. "But there's four more dunks, so ..."

Drummond, whose only other All-Star Weekend experience came in the 2014 Rising Stars Challenge, is not only looking forward to the Slam Dunk contest, but also representing the Eastern Conference as a reserve in the All-Star Game itself on Feb. 14.

"It's not my first go-round but it's my first time being in the actual Sunday game, so I'm excited for it," Drummond said. "And then the dunk contest, I've got to get myself mentally prepared for that, too. So it's going to be a fun weekend for me."
