Report: Pacers offered Hill for Hawks' Teague

The Indiana Pacers appear to be looking for a shakeup at point guard.

With Atlanta Hawks guard Jeff Teague eminently available, the Indiana Pacers have repeatedly dangled guard George Hill in hopes of landing the speedy Teague, according to Kevin Arnovitz and Brian Windhorst of ESPN.

Hill has been a strong contributor for the Pacers, but he's not quite the playmaker that Teague is. While Hill's been an excellent spot-up threat, connecting on 43.7 percent of his 3-pointers this season, the Pacers have plenty of ball-dominant scorers, and a drive-and-kick floor general might prove to be a better fit.

Teague is averaging 5.4 assists per game as compared to Hill's 3.3.

As for the Hawks, dealing Teague for a better shooter in Hill could bolster head coach Mike Budenholzer's pace-and-space scheme. Teague's also been a decent 3-point shooter (41.2 percent this season), but Hill's proven to be a more reliable sniper over his career.

Both the 29-year-old Hill and the 27-year-old Teague are owed $8 million this season and next.
