After putting together arguably the greatest runner-up performance in Slam Dunk contest history Saturday night, Aaron Gordon said he'll likely participate again next year if he's offered the chance.

"I kind of did a lot of dunks there. ... If they want me to come back, I probably will," Gordon said to Sports Illustrated's Ben Golliver.

The Orlando Magic forward put on an incredible show, collecting three straight 50s in the second round before finishing with a 47 on his final dunk of the evening.

However, Gordon admitted defeat, saying LaVine earned the crown after the Minnesota Timberwolves high flyer threw down his fourth straight 50.

"(LaVine) went through the legs from the free-throw line. That's insane. ... That's why the trophy is with him and not with me."

Gordon threw down arguably the dunk of the night, going under both legs after jumping over Orlando's mascot.

If LaVine and Gordon match up again in next year's contest, it's apparently reasonable to expect another breathtaking performance, since Gordon thinks he could have planned even more moves for Saturday.

"If I knew it would be like that, I would've prepared better and we could've dunked all night, " Gordon told the L.A. Daily News' Mark Medina.
