LeBron: 'I could care less about what I shoot from 3'

What initially looked to be an early season blip has turned into a full-on shooting slump for the King.

After missing all five of his attempts in Friday's heartbreaker against the Boston Celtics, LeBron James has now gone six games without hitting a 3-pointer.

A frustrated James didn't take kindly to being asked about his wayward jump shooting.

"I could care less about what I shoot from the three," James snapped, according to Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com. "It's not my game."

On the year, James is hitting 26.4 percent from deep - a sharp decline from the robust 37.5 percent mark he put up in the four seasons prior.

James, who started the 2015-16 season shooting under 20 percent from deep, initially attributed his slump to simply being "out of rhythm." His shooting picked up in December (he cited an unflattering stat study as the motivation for his improvement), but he has once again lost the range on his jumper.

His inability to shoot has made it slightly easier for opposing teams to defend him. Defenses are routinely sagging off James on his isolations, and when he runs pick-and-roll, which has led to a drop in James' efficiency. He ranks in the 66th percentile in points per pick-and-roll, and a pedestrian 57th in points per isolation.

As it were, the Cavaliers have managed to overcome James' struggles. Cleveland ranks fourth in offensive rating (106.4) - although that mark is slightly down from its mark of 107.7 from a season ago.
