Steph Curry: 'Not my job' to impact free-agency decisions

With all the talk of LeBron James' supposed vise-grip over the daily operations of the Cleveland Cavaliers, it appears Stephen Curry is taking a more hands-off approach with his team.

Curry was asked about giving input on potential free-agency decisions (perhaps a nod toward recent Kevin Durant-to-Golden State rumors), and the reigning MVP wisely sidestepped the question.

"I expect they'll ask me about what a potential move, whatever it is, how it'll impact the team, the chemistry, and this and that," Curry told ESPN's Ethan Sherwood Strauss.

"But at the end of the day that's not my job. If it was we probably wouldn't have the team we have right now. I'll stick to shooting, playing with the teammates that we have, and hopefully whatever that means down the stretch, (general manager) Bob (Myers) and front office continue to do the job they've been doing."

Curry isn't known for publicizing his opinions on the Warriors' operations, but he did give a ringing endorsement in 2014 to former head coach Mark Jackson when it was clear that Jackson and management were at odds.

Curry's encouragement didn't save Jackson, but the decision to switch to Steve Kerr paid instant dividends. Kerr immediately elevated Curry and the Warriors to new heights, as they won a title in his first year as head coach.

The Warriors' front office deserves credit as well for doing a diligent job of team building. Under Myers' watch, the Warriors drafted Harrison Barnes, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Festus Ezeli, while adding veterans Andrew Bogut and Andre Iguodala to surround Curry with the perfect complement of pieces to maximize his game.

Golden State has built a championship roster, signed all its main pieces to long-term deals, hired one of the best coaches in the league, and this summer could even add a four-time scoring champion in Durant.

So, even if he wanted to, what's there for Curry to say?
