After shocking the NBA world Monday morning by firing head coach Derek Fisher, New York Knicks president Phil Jackson is already looking to make another move prior to the Feb. 18 trade deadline.

"We're looking to improve this ballclub, there's no doubt," Jackson said to Al Iannazzone of Newsday Sports. "We know that we have some good guys. The chemistry is pretty good. The talent can still be better. It always can, so we're looking."

Carmelo Anthony and rookie Kristaps Porzingis are reportedly "off-limits," meaning the Knicks will likely look to move some of their secondary players if they plan on making a splash before next Thursday.

"We have a couple of players that probably are tabled, that we would say they are off the table for discussion. But like any team, looking to improve themselves, we are open to discussion," Jackson added.

While Anthony's name popped up in rumors earlier in the year, Jackson prefers to keep the Syracuse product for both his talent and guidance.

"Carmelo is the leader," Jackson said. "We understand that. He's on board. He's going to move forward with this basketball club."

Even if Jackson were open to trading Anthony, he would still need the nine-time All-Star to waive his no-trade clause.

While, Porzingis doesn't have a no-trade clause, Jackson was adamant that the Knicks see the 7-foot-3 Latvian as a key component of their future.

"We like Kris. Everybody likes Kris."
