Kerr ignoring Durant-to-Warriors 'speculation'

As the head coach of a championship team on pace for the greatest season in NBA history, Steve Kerr isn't exactly concerning himself with potential offseason targets for his Golden State Warriors, like Kevin Durant, for example.

"It's just speculation," Kerr said Saturday about recent reports that the Warriors are a serious suitor for Durant, who will be an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Added Kerr, "I don't know why anyone would talk about anything other than the fact we're 45-4."

Saturday's matchup between Kerr's Warriors and Durant's Oklahoma City Thunder has been highly anticipated since reigning MVP Stephen Curry all but guaranteed a Golden State victory, with the Durant rumors only fueling the fire.

While the very thought of the historically dominant Warriors adding another transcendent player is frightening, there's still a good chunk of regular-season basketball and an entire postseason left to play before free agency rolls around.

Durant can also maximize his value by delaying a long-term max until 2017, when the NBA's salary cap is set to explode.
