Hollins on Nets' struggles: 'What good does it do for me to stay up all night analyzing it?'
Lionel Hollins has rarely been a coach to mince words, and his Brooklyn Nets are not a particularly good basketball team, which explains why he is literally not losing any sleep dissecting his squad's play against top talent.
"What good does it do for me to stay up all night analyzing it?" Hollins said prior to Saturday's matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers. "We don't have Kevin Durant, we don't have (Russell) Westbrook, we don't have LeBron James."
Given the Nets' roster, there's obviously some truth to what Hollins - in his ninth season as an NBA head coach - is saying, but the sentiment can still be viewed as both simplistic and defeatist.
"If you're not good enough to win those game because of the other teams' talent, you've still done all you can do, and you just go home and go to bed," he concluded.
