The NBA has suspended Utah Jazz forward Trevor Booker one regular-season game for swinging at Roy Hibbert in Tuesday's preseason outing against the Los Angeles Lakers.

News of the suspension was first reported Thursday by Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.

The incident took place during the third quarter after Booker shoved Lakers sophomore Julius Randle, which didn't sit well with Hibbert, who went chest to chest with Utah's big man.

Booker took a left-handed swing at Hibbert, forcing their teammates to intervene to separate them.

Hibbert was issued a technical foul, while Booker picked up two technical fouls and was ejected.

The Jazz emerged victorious in the end, earning a 117-114 overtime victory at Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu. Hibbert finished with a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds in 32 minutes, while Booker didn't score in 19 minutes before being given the boot.

The suspension will be served on Oct. 28 when Utah opens its season on the road against the Detroit Pistons.
