VIDEO: Hassan Whiteside's dog is a Defensive Player of the Year candidate
With 2.6 blocks per game in his 48-game, breakout 2014-15 season, Hassan Whiteside would be within his rights to name himself a player to watch in the 2015-16 Defensive Player of the Year race.
Instead, the Miami Heat center has been training his French Bulldog, Ares, to play the type of lockdown man defense that could see a guard win the award for the first time since Gary Payton in 1996.

This isn't the only cool thing Whiteside's pup does, by the way. He also maintains all of the chill.
