Barkley sounds off on 'scumbag' 1st agent, says he stole money from him

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The next time Charles Barkley fails to speak his mind will be the first.

When the topic turned to his first agent, Lance Lesnick, the TNT analyst and quote machine didn't mince words in his appearance on "The Dan Patrick Show" on Friday. Barkley was discussing taking money from agents while at Auburn, saying he didn't regret doing so - but he did regret signing with Lesnick.

From there, Barkley went a few steps further than just expressing regret:

He stole all my money. He's a scumbag. If I see him today, I'd blow his damn brains out. I hate that S.O.B. His name is Lance Lesnick. He's a scumbag.
...
I think I was given $15,000 allowance. That came at the first of every month and man, I didn't care. He said, 'I'm investing the rest.' I'm like, 'OK.' And after four years, I was broke, hadn't paid taxes. Like I said, I don't want to mention his name - Lance Lesnick.
...
If I carried a gun, I would.
...
I probably won't have a gun when I see him, but I'd probably beat his ass down like a dog.

Barkely is estimated to have made $40.3 million as a player from his sophomore season on. But as Zach Harper of Eye on Basketball points out, Barkley's accounting suggests he took home only around 30 percent of his total earnings over the first four seasons of his career.
