Report: John Wall to attend Team USA minicamp

Washington Wizards star John Wall has accepted USA Basketball's invitation to attend their minicamp later this month, CSN Washington's J. Michael reports.

The two-time NBA all-star was one of the final cuts from Team USA's roster last summer, as the team geared up for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

With minicamp attendance being compulsory for those who wish to re-join next summer, Wall's decision to participate in USAB's three-day Las Vegas event will provide the five-year veteran an opportunity to make the squad for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The 24-year-old point guard experienced success in 2014-15 - his Wizards swept the Toronto Raptors in the first round of the playoffs - however, he suffered a "really bad sprain" of his left wrist during Game 1 of his team's second-round matchup against the Atlanta Hawks.

He was later diagnosed with multiple fractures in his wrist and was kept out of playoff action until Game 5 of the series.

Wall's recovery process yielded some good news in July, as it was revealed that he would not require wrist surgery.

He will join various other NBA superstars at the Aug. 11-13 camp, including teammate Bradley Beal.
