The Philadelphia 76ers are going to give 6-foot-6 shooting guard Jordan McRae an opportunity to crack their roster next season by having him attend training camp, according to Liberty Ballers' Jake Pavorsky.

An NBA contract is a requisite to participate, although the former Tennessee Volunteer and the Sixers have yet to reach a deal.

Drafted with the No. 58 pick in 2014 by the San Antonio Spurs, McRae was sent to Philadelphia on draft night, eventually suiting up for the team during summer league.

He spent last season competing for Melbourne United of the National Basketball League (NBL), averaging 19.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in 27 appearances. McRae joined the Delaware 76ers of the NBA D-League once the season in Australia came to an end.

The 76ers offered McRae a tender to join the team the year he was drafted, although he ultimately turned the deal down to head overseas. Because of that decision, Philadelphia is the only franchise he can negotiate a contract with, as NBC Sports' Dan Feldman points out.

He played a single game for the 76ers during the Las Vegas Summer League last month, scoring three points in 11 minutes of action.
