Deron Williams puts penthouse on market for twice what he paid

Deron Williams is a greedy savage when it comes to real estate.

The point guard recently put his Tribeca penthouse on the market as he begins the next stage of his basketball career in the Lone Star State with the Dallas Mavericks.

The 6,800-square-foot apartment is priced at a whopping $33.5 million - more than twice what he paid when he bought it in 2013 for $15.8 million, according to Jennifer Gould Keil from the New York Post.

It my be difficult for Williams to land the offer he's looking for, especially with the economy being what it is. Then again, if a buyer takes the bait, the three-time NBA All-Star will recoup what he lost when the Brooklyn Nets waived him earlier in the month.

The buyout agreement will pay Williams $27.4 million of the remaining $43.2 million he's owed over the next two years, meaning $15.7 million was left on the table. If his penthouse is indeed sold at his asking price, Williams will net a profit of $17.7 million.
