Shaquille O'Neal bungles common idiom; calls Scottie Pippen a 'bum'

Shaquille O'Neal simply won't let it go.

After sparking an Instagram feud with fellow Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen, O'Neal spoke out once again about the former Chicago Bulls legend.

"I don't let bums disrespect me," O'Neal said on the Big Podcast with Shaq. "Yeah he was a great player, but I'm the bridge and he's the water. He will always be under me."

Ironically enough, the idiom "water under the bridge" means letting go of previous wrongdoings and moving on.

But O'Neal clearly feels wronged by the six-time NBA champion as O'Neal fingers Pippen for "making it personal."

"I didn't say 'hey (at) Scottie Pippen, we'll beat you guys by 50. Hey (at) Rodman, we'll beat you guys by 50.' I just said 'I'll beat you guys by 50.'

"He made it personal when he said, (at) Shaq 'Hey I don't believe in hypotheticals.' He swung first so I'm going to swung back, I'm going to swing second and I'm going to swing last."

The war of words started over a silly Instagram photo of the Bulls' and Lakers' all-time starting fives. O'Neal posted the image to his Instagram account and said his Lakers would beat the Bulls by 50.

Pippen responded by posting an image of himself and Michael Jordan posing after capturing their sixth championship together. O'Neal fired back with a low-blow, saying that Jordan did most of the work and Steve Kerr and Ron Harper deserved more credit than Pippen.

What followed was a slew of increasingly childish pictures from O'Neal, while Pippen stuck to his point that his six rings are more than O'Neal's four.
