Report: Hawks, Millsap agree to 3-year deal worth $59 million

Paul Millsap has reportedly reached an agreement on a three-year deal to remain with the Atlanta Hawks, according to Real GM's Shams Charania.

Millsap's $59-million deal will reportedly include an option on the third year, meaning the two-time All-Star can once again enter free agency when the salary cap spikes in 2017 due to additional television revenue.
The only serious competitor that emerged to challenge Atlanta in its quest to retain Millsap was the Orlando Magic, who were reportedly dangling a maximum offer worth $80 million over four years.
Millsap has grown into one of the best two-way power forwards through his first two seasons in Atlanta, averaging 17.3 points, 8.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.8 steals, and a block since signing a team-friendly two-year, $19-million deal with the Hawks in 2013.
The 30-year-old has also added a dependable 3-point stroke during his time with the Hawks, connecting on 35.7 percent of his 2.9 long range attempts per game.
With the continued presence of All-Star big man Al Horford, the addition of Tiago Splitter via trade, and now the re-signing of Millsap, the Hawks will enter the 2015-16 season with one of the best rotations of big men in the Eastern Conference, as they look to replicate their stunning 2014-15 success.
The Hawks won a franchise-record 60 games and advanced to the Conference Finals for the first time since 1970.
