Knicks set franchise-low with 60th loss of the year, Butler and Noah celebrate

It's official: this is the worst season ever in New York Knicks history.

With an embarrassing 111-80 loss to the Chicago Bulls on Saturday, the Knicks dropped their seventh game in a row to slip to 14-60 on the year, which officially breaks their previous franchise-low of 59 losses.

The streaking Bulls thoroughly dominated the hapless Knicks in every regard. Seven Bulls finished in double-digits and Nikola Mirotic led the way with 24 points off the bench on 8-of-15 shooting. In the 14 games prior to Saturday, Mirotic was averaging 20.6 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.

As has become the norm, both offense and defense posed problems for New York. The Knicks allowed the Bulls to shoot 51.2 percent from the field while shooting just 38 percent themselves.

With the win well in hand midway through the third quarter, Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau managed to rest both Jimmy Butler and Joakim Noah for the entire fourth quarter. That freed them up to celebrate with the United Center crowd.
