Festus Ezeli apologizes for suspension: 'Violence is never the answer'

Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

Sometimes, tempers run hot in professional sports, never more so than when Tyler Hansbrough is on the floor.

While it remains unclear what, exactly, Hansbrough did or said to fire Festus Ezeli up on Friday, it was enough to cause the Golden State Warriors center to get physical. Ezeli put hands on the Toronto Raptors agitator, leading to a pull-apart shoving match and a one-game suspension for Ezeli, which he served Sunday.

Upset with himself for his lack of discipline, Ezeli took to Instagram to apologize for his actions.

CAPTION: I realize I have fans and friends from all over and of all ages supporting me and that's part of what pushes me to the Best I can be. Now what happened the other day was very out of character for me. That was unacceptable. Violence is never the answer and I want to apologize to everyone (warriors organization, teammates & coaches, friends & fans, and Most especially, family). I let you guys down and it won't happen again

It's hard to blame Ezeli too much, considering Hansbrough unofficially leads the NBA in technical fouls and assault charges drawn.
