Kings' Cousins casts his support behind Larry Sanders' decision to step away

For someone with a surly reputation, Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins came across as extremely considerate in casting his support behind former Milwaukee Bucks center Larry Sanders' decision to step away from the NBA.

Sanders recently reached a buyout to terminate his contract with the Bucks and explained Wednesday in a column for the Players' Tribune that he's taking time off to deal with mental health concerns.

Cousins was asked to comment on Sanders on Thursday and as relayed by James Ham of Cowbell Kingdom, Cousins was nothing but supportive.

"Support is exactly what he needs," Cousins said. "I don’t think a lot of people understand the mental abuse of this whole sport. It’s not diamonds and gold everyday.

"I respect him for being a man about it and admitting to whatever his issue is. He has my full support. I hope he overcomes it and gets back to playing basketball," Cousins added.
