Grizzlies' Mike Conley probable to return from wrist sprain Saturday

Justin Ford-USA TODAY Sports

Things could get a whole lot more difficult for Russell Westbrook on Saturday.

The Memphis Grizzlies could once again be armed with point guard Mike Conley when the two sides meet, as Conley has been upgraded to probable for the game. Conley sprained his wrist on Monday and missed the team's games on Tuesday and Thursday.

Beno Udrih started in Conley's place, filling in admirably, while Zach Randolph took on a greater role to help the team win their eighth and ninth games in their past 10. Getting Conley back against the Oklahoma City Thunder is paramount to slowing Westbrook, who is a tough check even for someone as strong defensively as Conley.

The Grizzlies have been six points per-100 possessions better with Conley on the floor this season, with the 27-year-old averaging 17.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 5.6 assists. Thought to be a potential All-Star before rosters were announced, Conley is sporting career-highs with a 20.1 player efficiency rating and a 56.9 true shooting percentage.

Memphis has been excellent against top Western Conference competition all season and will be in better shape to continue that trend if Conley can give it a go.
