Report: Thunder almost dealt Jackson to Nuggets

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

It's no secret that the Oklahoma City Thunder have been trying to move restricted free agent-to-be Reggie Jackson. He almost ended up with the Denver Nuggets this week but the trade fell apart, according to Frank Isola of the New York Daily News.

Since Dion Waiters' arrival in Oklahoma City, Jackson has averaged 22.9 minutes per game. In the 19 games prior, he averaged 28 minutes a night.

As a result, perhaps Waiters shouldn't expect to get the ball from Jackson on a break, as displayed in Wednesday's loss to the New York Knicks.

The Thunder remain three-and-a-half games behind the Phoenix Suns for the No. 8 playoff spot out west and are running out of time to make a move. That said, reports are the team is behind coach Scott Brooks and a potential Jackson trade.
