VIDEO: Bryant sinks 30-footer, finishes 8-for-30 on the night

Following a loss to the Sacramento Kings on Sunday night, the Los Angeles Lakers' woeful record sits at 8-19.

At the center of the Lakers' struggles is Kobe Bryant, who has become an increasingly divisive player due to his woeful shooting. Heading into Sunday's game, Bryant was averaging 24.6 points, but was shooting just 37.7 percent from the field and 26.8 percent on 3-pointers.

There's an argument to be made that Bryant's excessive shooting is in the best interest of the Lakers. There isn't a whole lot of talent on the roster beyond Bryant, who still occasionally shows flashes of brilliance - such as when he nailed a 30-foot 3-point bomb against the Kings.

Broken play. Kobe with the 30' J

An argument can also be made that Bryant has been shooting the Lakers right out of games.

For example, Bryant's teammates shot a combined 25-for-57 (45.6 percent) on Sunday, while Bryant took a whopping 30 shots and only made eight. Bryant's dubious shooting performance put him alongside Allen Iverson as the only players since 1985 to post two games with eight or less baskets on 30 or more shot attempts.

Bryant also committed nine turnovers.

Either way, it's been a trying season for both Bryant and the Lakers, as habitual losing is something foreign to both parties.
